Greater Columbus Convention Center Gets North America's First LG Installed Direct View LED As Part of Expansion Project

Go big or go home...The Greater Columbus Convention Center definitely went big, in digital signage too.  They are wrapping up a 22-month expansion and renovation project and it could not be more beautiful.  

According to Experience Columbus, the $140 million dollar changes include:

  • adding 37,000 square feet of exhibit space
  • upgrading finishes and aesthetics in meeting rooms, ball rooms, and public spaces
  • an expansive two level open atrium
  • full exterior renovations including a new 800 space parking garage connected to the convention center by a covered skybridge
  • displaying more than 150 pieces of local art
  • digital signage to direct, wayfind, and entertain (featuring a Mondrianesque inspired wall with 6 display screens)

Open Lines of Corporate Communication With Digital Signage

I was in Colorado recently, and my family and I stayed in a mountain cabin that happened to be at an elevation of 11,200 feet.  It was in a city about two hours from Denver.  The views were breathtaking (literally), the air was crisp, and we had nothing but mother nature to keep us company (unless we wanted to travel 20 miles out or so).  

We could not have asked for a better Rocky Mountain experience, unless we mentioned the cellular and internet service.  I would call it spotty, at best.  This made for interesting work times and made it difficult to communicate with the office back home.  

It was then that I realized the parallel between my "spotty communication" on the mountain and the "spotty communication" that takes place in the corporate world with email communication.
