webdesign-3411373_1920Are you looking to find an API (Application Programming Interface) that can interact directly with the Signagelive API First Platform to produce your own content, tools, and experiences?

Well you're in luck if you are a Signagelive user or partner.  Signagelive has made their platform services available and you can do anything that their builders/makers are doing.

There are four options for building your application using Signagelive's platform.

Network API - create custom user interfaces, workflows, and proactive monitoring.  It is customizable and allows you to extend the functionality of the interface to meet your needs.

Web Triggers API - Precached content on your media player can be triggered by real time events or happenings.

Player API - custom media players

Widget Development Framework - development of applications and experiences that are specific to Signagelive's supported media players

But you're probably asking is, what can I do with it?

Signagelive Platform ServicesHere is a list of features Signagelive's Platform Services provides:

From your current content creation tools, you can upload your media to Signagelive directly.  Supported media includes images, videos, web page URLs, IPTV Stream URLs, widgets, RSS, and MRSS.

You can organize your media into folders.  This is easier for your Signagleive users to find and manage media rather than having it pooled into one place.

Tag and Search.  You will have the capability of tagging your media so that it can be found easily within Signagelive using search functions.

Downloading media can be done securely from the Signagelive library.

When it comes to creating and editing layouts, you can create multi-zone layouts, as well as creating layouts from your existing design tools.

Existing layouts can be edited and updated, and if published, can automatically be updated to your players.

Like media organization, you can ensure all of your layouts are organized through tagging for easy searchability and management.

Use your existing tools to create and edit new playlists.  Playlists that are already published can be updated automatically to your players without having to re-publish content.

You also have the capability to add media to an existing playlist, where you can decide where to place it within the playlist and how long you want it to display.

Similarly, you can also set conditions on your media playback.  You decide what date you want it to play, for how long, and can even direct it to which player you want it to show up on and when.  This can be done using the tagging as well.

The best part, is that playlists can even be exported outside of Signagelive.  Just make the request and the report will be delivered to your specified email.

No content being published?  No problem.  You can publish your own content and set it to default to that content when needed.

The content can be made into scheduled playlists.  This allows the specific content to play when and where you want it to allowing you to schedule forward and use Just In Time scheduling.

Published content can even be interrupted.  Certain triggers, such as fire alarms, key presses, or other triggers can cause the content playing to be interrupted and will publish the content needed at the time.  This happens with Signagelive Web Triggers.

digital signage reports

To be able to analyze data such as sales numbers when content was playing versus not playing, or analyze within your business tools, you can do this by enabling Proof of Play on your Signagelive network.  Once you do this, then download the CSV impression reports to combine with other business data.  This will give you the reports.

Manage & Monitor:

With the API system, you can manage media players, Signagelive licenses, and Users.  You can activate, deactivate and organize players into useful folders.

Manage Signagelive licenses easily by renewing existing and adding new licenses, and in the same, add or renew users.  You can also control the level of access that each user has.

Along with managing media players, Signagelive makes it possible to extract the dashboard data about your players and place it into your existing business monitoring solutions. It's important to know that you have the ability to ensure your players are connected to Signagelive, know that you can get their latest content, including screenshots.

Monitoring is even available without logging into Signagelive if you build your own dashboard to display your players.

You can create your own widgets and even make them available to other Signagelive users.  The widgets created can even be added to the Signagelive Marketplace.

When using the Signagelive widgets you can customize to make it match your company's branding with calendar integration, weather and even menu board widgets.

There are multiple ways for the Signagelive API system to interact including: touch, keyboard, remote control buttons, lift and learn, and web triggers (as mentioned before).

All of these include interaction playlists that go into effect after an "interaction" takes place.  Content may be playing at each device, and then once it is "interacted with" content will change to initiate interaction.

Signagelive is prepared to get you started with any one of the API's.  If this isn't a great excuse to begin your digital signage experience, I'm not sure what is.  Coffman Media, a leading digital signage integrator, can give you a free consultation to determine your digital signage needs and get you started with Signagelive's Platform Services.
