What is it? How is a cooler being "powered"? Can you please show me what you are talking about?
These are the first thoughts that ran through my mind when I first read Signagelive's news release headline. We couldn't help but share the exciting new cooler display.
I think it's best to at least introduce Signagelive to you before I present the goodies.
Who is Signagelive?
Signagelive has created a platform that offers digital signage as a service. They partner with over 440 resellers globally (like us) to provide software, servers, and support.
They use cloud-based software allowing you to manage any digital signage device, from PCs to SmartTV displays, from your Internet browser. In short, all you need is a display, media player, and Internet access and you are ready to use Signagelive.
Check out our blog, A Look at Signagelive and Signagelive Resellers for a more in-depth discovery of Signagelive.
Now back to this cooler...
Signagelive has been working with LG and their WebOS displays, which incorporates System on
Chip technology, eliminating the need for a separate media player, to enable support for their 49" transparent display cooler.
The cooler can display an opaque screen allowing advertisements or content to display enticing your customers with consumable products or last minute point of purchase items. The screen can then switch into transparent mode when motion is detected allowing customers to see the contents inside the cooler.
A cooler that is super cool. I have to see this.

Who can benefit from this cooler?
The obvious environments that can benefit from the Signagelive powered LG Cooler are convenience stores and grocery stores. Other options can include:
- Retail stores
- Corporate Offices
- Gas Stations
- Quick Service Restaurants
- Even your own home
Could you imagine having a cooler in your personal kitchen that displays, say, your family calendar until you trip the detector and then you can actually look into your fridge to pick your snack? No longer would you have to correct your children for wasting the energy from standing with the fridge door open!
